I completely agree with this the average person QQ about being banned for botting had multiple accounts so to the OP of this thread you my sir are an idiot to believe that 3700 banned accounts= 3700 banned people in actuality it's probably fewer than 800 and really I couldn't care less about 800 getting banned for using bots even if it does make gw a bit smaller I doubt it would make a huge difference to the rest of us that actually play.

I'd rather have 3,700 less bots in the game than have them in the game.
Less bots means more personal interaction with players, regardless of how many are left.
Sadly, PvP is much more ghost town-ish now......

It's hard to read your essay on the Guild Wars populace as anything other than a bitter tantrum.
You say GW1 crew doesn't care about the game after they ban 3 700 accounts that were cheating the game (hence ruining it).
Just because you actually played the game doesn't make you exempt from the rules. You cheated, you got caught.
The game is the game.

I feel the same way. He says we didn't bot because we didn't know how to do it???!?!
No..we didn't bot because we are the smart ones, and besides I already got everything I've wanted from this game without botting.

I dont think the 3700 account banned would constitute a ghost town, they werent "real" in the first place.

also means 3700 less accounts bogging down Anet's servers, maybe a bit less ingame lag on big event weekends. hmm less people doing PvP, maybe those of us that have wanted to play HA that arent ranked might have a chance.............then again probably not

So people are actually saying that b/c there found no fun in in playing GW they started using botts and even more blame A-net for this. So childlish, clearly A-Net did them a favour b/c made right decsion they couldn't make : stop playing if the game is not fun anymore, otherwise it's some compulsive/obssesvie/addicitive behavoiur.

Arena-Net has offered us so many lovely content additions in the recent history, such as costumes, NPCs to talk trade useless crap for other useless crap, ways to change our character from a down-syndrome having asian infant, and finally the War in Kryta quest chain. These additions have molded the community from a dying game, to a dying game that the players realize won't get better. I understand GW2 is on the rise, but that's been the case for 2 years without any love for the original, and will continue to be the case for months to come. With this being said, what do the players with 3-5 years under their belt have to do? Repeat missions, vanqs, dungeons? Needlessly grind out speed clears (which Anet failed at attempting to shut down)? Or maybe participating in nerdy e-peen battles on a nightly basis with the same morons every night in HA? THIS my friends, is precisely why people bot. It makes the game fun again. Personally, I've achieved GWAMM, r8, g3 on my own, no bot help. I moved to PvP because there was nothing else left to do in PvE. When PvP becomes redundant, you simply move on (botting). An evolutionary process mediated by A-net themselves.
For those of you who didn't bot, you simply didn't know where to get it. Honestly, when something becomes meta (obviously botting was), this community of ours nestles into it wholeheartedly. So basically, my point is this: Anet killed this game by not updating it enough. Without enough content updates, or micro-transactions, or anything that normal, successful MMOs employ to keep their game active, this game died out. 15 minute zaishen wait times in HA, empty districts in PvE zones, etc... BEFORE the ban-o-mania. Just imagine what the future months will behold.
I would just like to note with this post, that the people that botted, didn't necessarily bot because they wanted a maxed title, or money, or fame, or glad, etc.. etc... Personally... I just didn't know what else to do... Second GWAMM? ok.. bot account wide titles (treasure, luxon.) Bot eotn titles. Who cares? I've done them already... If a game wants to combat botting, don't let the players get bored of said game. Honestly, running rupty and watching people rage was more fun than playing the game for what it is. If Anet sticks to this concept of an MMO.... even if it is more like WoW (.... zzzzz), who is going to play it? You think I'm gonna buy GW2 after filling my HoM legitimately, getting gwamm, r8, g3 legit? After 5000+ hours of gameplay? I can't imagine so. Because truthfully, with the effort put into GW1 in the last few years, why would I expect anything more from GW2 once they design it? A re-skinned, re-written WoW isn't going to do anyone any good, especially when the Arena Net team won't be adding new content updates every couple of months like WoW does... As BAD as WoW is... it's better than GW... because the designers actually give a damn. =/ sad news for Guild Wars today.
Generally... good luck GW community. - What's left of it, that is.

I like how you try to make this sound like it's srsbsnss by giving it a a serious title.
Long rant short, you're overreacting. But I'm sure if I were to directly point out everything wrong with your post, you would overanalyze things in an attempt to defend this poor excuse of srsbsnss with a hugely unnecessary post. So I'll just leave it at this.
Oh, and who the hell writes an essay about a video game playerbase anyways?

We have to get max GWAMM! Everyone else was doing it too! ANet forces people to bot - it was the only way to play the game!
If you are SO bored with the game that you feel you had nothing else to do but break rules, protip: get a new game, or go take a walk. BTW, I know/knew exactly where to get the bot(s). In an already ridiculously easy and dying game, I see no need to bot unless you really don't care what happens to your account. And surely, had I made the decision to bot, I would have expected it coming and been happy that I at least had an awesome ban (Dhuum!) and not just a screen telling me I can no longer access my account (which is what happened when I got banned from Diablo 2 years ago for botting, which I only used bots because I had zero interest in the game any more and the ban didn't bother me).
Anyway, one less person who feels they are owed everything using the server's resources. Maybe we'll get less lag from all of this? Either way, the whining from those banned in the mean time is entertaining.

Lol @ the argument that people who didn't bot just didn't know where to find them.
Yes, google is extremely difficult to use!

This. Seriously, bots aren't real players, just some program. I'll take real people over those any day, even if there aren't a lot of them. Though since I play mainly PvE I haven't noticed a change in how many people are around where I play. lol

Lol yeah, I would consider a town full of bots more a 'ghost' town than a town with 1 actual player in it.

Good point. The last event weekend was horrendous due to raptor farming bots.

Botting was meta if 3700 people got banned for it bro... lawl.

No...no, it was a QQ post.
Favorite parts: claiming that 3700 people represent "nearly half" of the game community, and this:

hehe inpsiration came from a post i saw on here earlier...
"they see me bottin'
They hatin'
They hopin' they catch me playing dirty
tryna' catch me playing dirty,
tryna' catch me playing dirty,
tryna' catch me play- OH FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!"
"Connection with Server has been lost."
* YOU HAVE BEEN BANNED*
Ok, on-topic:
To OP:
seriously, botters/exploiters of game mechanics were one of the major reasons the game community died. You got what you had coming to you.
It sucks that you put so much time into it, but you will get no sympathy from myself or the majority of the posts here.
